Work Day #2

Today was our second day of work projects here at Timberline, and the first day of adventures! As the adventures are sprinkled throughout the rest of this week, we will highlight both the fun of the adventures and the work projects as they happen (but of course the work is fun as well 😉).

PRC: *Before we start talking about the PRC and what it is, I (Ashley Zheng) have a message to tell my mom at home: Please water the flowers in my room. Thanks mom.*
PRC stands for Pregnancy Resource Connection, and is a Christian organization near Timberline. They mainly needed help with landscaping around their property, since most of their usual volunteers are all retired and are not best suited for landscaping. The landscaping we did involved hauling rocks around and organizing them to look pretty, as well as pulling out the weeds around the area. When we were eating lunch inside and doing our devotionals, Maya was asked to help translate for a Spanish speaking mother and the director. Although our time there was very labor intensive, we all enjoyed our time there and were happy to help! – Ashley Z

Timberline: Today we all shoveled gravel and measured wood for our new bench. We drilled and hammered in the nails and screws to secure it. We were listening to some AMAZING music while working which really put us in the working mode. We focused on what Heather taught us and made every decision intentional. By the end of the day we had 2 layers on the bench done!  We had made some new friends and connected with many people we don’t usually talk with! – Anna F

A&D’s: Logs logs and more logs all we did was wood and more wood the sun was hot and the splitter was hotter the basement was low but the stacking of the wood was prime but the sheds and fences to tear down was not. Very hospitable and very fulfilling. -Brooks

Intermediate Hike Adventure: Today we went on a waterfall hike and it was amazing! We got to see lots off wildlife (including 2 moose) we hiked 3 miles to a rock to do our bible time and to admire the amazing view and then 3 miles back where we saw several deer up close! – Lila S

Mountain Biking Adventure: It was uphill. There were a lot of rocks. It was 24 miles. – Logan L

And now for some pictures! Which is what you are really here for 🙂
